Party of 4

We had a baby and everyone is doing well

May 15, 2025: I’m on paternity leave and need to write.

If we haven't met yet, welcome! Shoot me message, would love to connect.

I’m excited to announce that my wife (Connie) and I welcomed our second child earlier this month into the world.

Funny story: We didn’t have a finalized name until the day after his birth so the hospital called him ‘BabyboyConnie Fuller’ his first 24hrs with us.

He’s a beautiful baby boy, with a head full of hair, and looks exactly like his older brother when he was born. Our friends joke that my wife just hit Copy/Paste when making this little guy. He joined us 3 weeks early so right on time for us. Our oldest was also 3 weeks early.

BabyboyConnie’s older brother is delighted to have a younger brother and wants to hold his dai dai (younger brother in Cantonese) at every chance but usually just for 1 second at a time.

There was an early scare after birth but everyone is happy, healthy, and home.

I could not be any happier!

Night Nurse Recommendation

Both our parents live out of state and, given we anticipated an early arrival, Connie arranged for a night nurse and a post-partum doula to help us before family arrived as reinforcements.

I wish we had a night nurse for baby #1. Margarita comes 3 days per week to help with night time feedings. She feeds him 3 times during the night, changes his diaper, puts him back down, and cleans bottles giving us 5hrs uninterrupted sleep - amazing!

If you can swing it, I would recommend a night nurse for your next baby. $35/hr.

Paternity Leave

Leading up to the baby, I was very clear with my clients and my team that my wife is expecting and he’ll likely arrive early. Not sure they believed me but he arrived right on time (early).

So what am I doing for paternity leave while being a small business owner?

I committed to 4 weeks off as we adjusted as a family. That is turning into 2 weeks unplugged and potentially 2 weeks part-time. We are entering week 3 this weekend so will see what comes of it.

Very grateful to my team and business partner for taking on my workload while I am out.

I probably should have asked other entrepreneurs how they handled it but we’re yolo’ing at the moment.

It’s hard to unplug. I get a lot of energy from working in and on the business. That’s probably why I sat down to the write this update. I need someone to email!

The End

2025 1H is about process and scale for me. If you’re scaling, shoot me a text so we can schedule something. 404-731-7814.

Go big!
